A fire captain with the Los Angeles City Fire Department has filed suit alleging he was harassed, retaliated against, and ultimately transferred after reporting an arson investigator for having left an unsecured firearm in an unlocked vehicle. Captain Brandon Taulli claims that the investigator’s race and gender played a central role in what he characterizes as an “adverse employment action.”

Bridgeport Firefighter Loses Third Bid To Reverse Termination

A Bridgeport, Connecticut firefighter who was terminated in 2012 following his arrest for insurance fraud, has lost a third lawsuit alleging that he was wrongful terminated. James Jackson was accused of falsely reporting that several thousand dollars worth of personal items had been stolen in a burglary in order to collect from his insurer.

Mississippi Fire Chief Sues for Reverse Discrimination

A Mississippi fire chief is among three local officials who claim they were fired by the city of Clarksdale last year on account of their race. Fire Chief Obert Douglas along with Municipal Judge Joseph Cobb Gibbs, and City Attorney Curtis Boschert were fired on July 10, 2017, ten days after Mayor Chuck Espy took office.
