The City of Charleston, Illinois is joining six other municipalities in filing a class action lawsuit against Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. over a breach of warranty claim on fire apparatus. The lawsuit alleges that Pierce and Global Fire Equipment Inc. granted a lifetime warranty on the frames of its fire trucks for rust and corrosion damage.

The widow of a Kentucky fire captain who was electrocuted while assisting with an ice-bucket challenge event last August has filed a wrongful death suit against Kentucky Utilities, Campbellsville University, and Pierce Manufacturing. Gina Grider filed suit in Taylor County Circuit Court last month over the August 21, 2014 death of her husband, Captain Tony Grider of the Campbellsville Fire Department.

In Buffalo 193 firefighters filed 20 suits over siren-related hearing loss, in Florida a lieutenant resigned over an allegation he had sex on duty, and in Kentucky a paramedic fired over a Facebook post filed suit claiming a First Amendment violation.
