A South Carolina fire chief and his son have been sued by the parents of two teenagers who claim the chief pursued their car, stopped them, pointed a gun at them, and ordered them to lie on the ground. The incident reportedly occurred last summer and was precipitated by the teens turning around in a driveway.

The US Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld summary judgment in favor of the City of Kankakee in a lawsuit brought by a female firefighter who accused her officer of assaulting her while they were fighting a fire. Michelle Giese claims Lieutenant Nathan Boyce picked her up and pushed her on October 18, 2018.

Two District of Columbia firefighters who were caught on video punching and kicking a man at the scene of a motor vehicle accident, are now facing criminal charges. Lieutenant Sean Sinon, 48, and Firefighter Reden Ecleo, 21, have been charged with assault.

A woman who was injured in an altercation with a Sparks firefighter has filed suit alleging battery and excessive force. Maureen Hvegholm filed suit against Timothy Egan in Washoe County District Court. The incident occurred last December and was captured on surveillance video.

A Buffalo firefighter who was seriously injured in an altercation with another Buffalo firefighter following a St. Patrick’s Day parade last year, has filed suit alleging negligence, recklessness and battery. Derek Rose filed suit in Erie County Supreme Court, naming Richard Manley as the sole defendant.

A San Francisco firefighter who claims he was assaulted by a colleague while both were off-duty, has filed suit against the other firefighter, the city, the fire chief, two other chief officers, and two company officers. Gabriel Shin filed suit earlier this year alleging battery, assault, race discrimination, disability discrimination, retaliation and several related counts.

An altercation between an on-duty Alabama firefighter and a local property owner has led to a federal civil rights lawsuit naming the firefighter and the fire department as defendants. Dois Wayne Cordell filed suit against firefighter Michael Hammock, the City of Sumiton, the Sumiton Police Department and the Sumiton Fire Department.
