A 71-year-old man who was tased and arrested by the Vallejo Police Department in 2019, has filed a civil rights suit against the city, the police chief, three police officers, the Vallejo Fire Department and a fire captain. John Mark Raudelunas filed suit yesterday in US District Court for the Eastern District of California.

YCMTSU in Texas Fire Department
There is a rather bizarre case out of Texas in the news today, alleging that a fire chief used fire department funds inappropriately, and then fired an assistant chief who was cooperating with law enforcement officials to investigate the financial improprieties. The Golden Hammer is reporting that a former assistant chief, Chuck Grant, has filed a whistleblower suit.

Suit by FDNY Ops Chief Alleges Promotion Denial Violates First Amendment
An FDNY deputy assistant chief who claims he was passed over for promotion to assistant chief for refusing to renounce letters to the editor he wrote decades ago relative to merit based testing, has filed suit alleging the city violated his First Amendment rights. DAC Michael F. Gala, Jr. filed suit late last year naming the city and Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro as defendants.

Dispatch Delay Led to Woman’s Death, Lawsuit Alleges
The death of a 41-year-old nurse and mother just outside Kansas City, Missouri, has prompted a wrongful death lawsuit against the Kansas City Police and Fire Departments, according to KCTV5. Cathryn McClelland passed out in her home in Prairie Village. Her son called 911, but the call was routed to KCMO, not Johnson County.
