Indiana Firefighter Charged With DUI in Response Incident That Killed Another Firefighter

One volunteer firefighter was killed and a second charged following a collision at the scene of an accident both were responding to in Daviess County. Firefighter Kendall Murphy, 27, arrived at the scene and was struck by firefighter Colby Blake, 26.

Murphy was outside his vehicle when struck. Blake suffered no injuries, but was found to have a blood alcohol level of .21%. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death and reckless driving. Members of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department and Cannelburg Volunteer Fire Department were responding to the incident last Friday evening.
