Indiana City Sues Fire District For Services Rendered

The City of Fort Wayne, Indiana is suing a neighboring fire district claiming that since it has been providing fire protection services to annexed parts of the district’s territory for nearly thirty years, it should be compensated.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department has been protecting a portion of the Southwest Allen County Fire District since 1987. Last week the city filed suit against the fire district and the Allen County auditor seeking reimbursement for the services it has been providing.
