15 Vermont Firefighters Reinstated Following Internet Video

Fifteen Vermont firefighters who were suspended for their role in starting and extinguishing a trailer fire as part of a Mudder's Day celebration last month, were reinstated yesterday. The firefighters are all volunteers with the Bennington Rural Fire Department.

The firefighters were suspended after video from the Mudder’s Day event was posted on the Internet.  State environmental officials are continuing to investigate whether charges should be brought. Event organizers did not secure proper permits for the live fire exercise.
