Kayaker Sues FDNY for Injuries

A kayaker who was seriously injured during a rescue effort last spring has filed suit against FDNY.

Frank Marino Jr., 17, was kayaking in Jamaica Bay last May when he capsized. FDNY responded but the propeller of the boat send to assist Marino struck him causing “multiple severe and serious lacerations” to his abdomen and legs. Marino’s injuries required surgery.

The suit was filed in Queens Supreme Court. More on the story.
